I’m not sure when the series Station Eleven first came out, but it was the last show I watched in 2023. Very few shows stick with me for a long time, but this time was different. I find myself thinking about the characters, their choices, their hardships, and their perseverance much more often than I’d like to admit. Maybe it’s because we all went through our own pandemic and I can actually imagine experiencing that level of fear and uncertainty when the fictional pandemic hits. But I think it has to do more with wanting to understand each character’s mindset, and feeling empathy for them. I loved how interconnected they were. And I loved what the show’s creators did in imagining the post apocalyptic reality for them. It’s a hard world, yet there are pockets of hope and love, and the “post-pan” generation knows no other existence. Watch it. Let’s talk about it.
