I stumbled upon this Norwegian series (with subtitles in English) by chance on the Filmin streaming platform. It caught my attention because the scarcity of affordable, and desirable, housing is on everyone’s mind these days, at least in my circle of friends. What will become of us if we don’t earn exuberant salaries? How far outside the center will we have to go if we continue to get pushed out by the rise of tourist flats? The series, The Architect, has some ideas that are so outlandish, they’re funny, and maybe even realistic, though I sincerely hope not! It’s a short and sweet series with a lot of moments that make you cringe, and then really really cringe, because who knows just how accurate of a future it might be depicting. A scary thought.
